REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent
POSITION SUMMARY: The director provides day to day administration and leadership to Beech Street Preschool including finance, staff development, family relations and program policy. In addition, the director serves as the Colorado Preschool Program coordinator.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Yearly:
- Conduct registration for the children that will be attending Beech Street
- Check and file each child's records as required by CPP and CDHS
- Enter kids into PowerSchool for all CPP sites.
- Maintain all staff files as required by CDHS
- Assist families in finding resources to meet preschool registration requirements (ie, Health Department, health clinic, etc)
- Participate in a minimum of 15 hour of professional development that meets any of the eight domains in the Colorado Competencies for Early Childhood Educators
- Schedule trainings required by licensing... (CPR, first aid, med admin etc.)
- Conduct a site assessment using CDE's Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Care and Education Services in order to maintain standards required by The Colorado Quality Ratings Information System
- Update information in QRIS related to staff and child demographics
- Plan and conduct a transition to Kindergarten plan as outlined in CPP statute
- Annual report and intent to continue submitted to CDE
Quarterly:
- Monitor TSG to be sure all teachers submit data by 3 deadlines.
- TSG archiving as needed.
- Organize and conduct a minimum of 2 District Advisory Council Quality Walkthroughs.
- Review and report DAC quality walkthrough.
Monthly
- Submit bills and PO's from the community partners.
- Coordinate and meet with District Advisory Council 6x a year minimum according to CPP guidelines. MECC makes up for 3 of these meetings.
- Planning family nights and parent accountability as required by CPP.
- Conduct Fire/Emergency drills.
Weekly:
- Meet with teaching team to discuss upcoming themes and lessons according to the objectives outlined in Teaching Strategies Gold as well as the individual need of the children.
- Put observations into Teaching Strategies Gold.
- Submit PowerSchool attendance for 3 community partner sites.
As Needed:
- Observations for TSG.
- Handle parent concerns and issues.
- Handle staff conflict/concerns/issues.
- Call for subs as needed or fill in when subs are unavailable.
- Advertise and review applicants for community partner site RFP’s every 2 years as outlined in CPP Statutes.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
- Evaluation of preschool staff.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in early childhood or related field
- Five years of experience in the early childhood education field.
- Current certification in Child CPR and First Aid.
- Colorado Early childhood Director Qualified.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field
- CDE teacher license
- Three years director experience.
- Colorado Early Childhood Director Qualified.
