TITLE:
Substitute Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Colorado Teaching License or a Colorado Substitute Teaching Authorization
- Four-year college degree or adequate experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs; bend; reach; hold grasp and turn objects.

Principal or Building Supervisor
Superintendent
JOB GOAL:
To enable each child to pursue his or her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
- Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
- Follows detailed instructions provided by the classroom teacher.
- Consults as appropriate, with the building principal, department head, or team leader before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the instructions provided by classroom teacher.
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior and instruction as assigned
- Reports in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practices dictate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: Based upon District adopted salary schedule for substitutes
Work Schedule: On an as needed basis. No guarantee of being called for substituting
Benefits: None
Hours: Set by the building principal for which the substitute is called to work in.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Classified
EVALUATION:
As per board policy regarding classified evaluations.
