Position Summary:
Substitute Teachers will provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. The Substitute will follow the regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate. Must be able to modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students. Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment.
Some additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Keep records on attendance, accidents and incidents
- Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Ensure the safety of students at all times
- Consult with Principal on responsibilities during the teacher’s absence
Candidate Profile
Education and Certification:
- Substitute Authorization through CDE (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Essential Physical Demands:
- Occasional lifting
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking
Supervisory Duties: None.
Reports to: Head of School
Compensation: identical to Montezuma Cortez RE-1 School District.
