TITLE:
Career and Technical Education/Maintenance Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Hold or eligible to hold Colorado teaching license or a Colorado CTE certification preferred
- Experience teaching in a CTE field preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical activity with requiring worker to walk, stand, or sit for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs; bend; reach; hold grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to the computer and other office equipment.

JOB GOALS:
To develop and foster the district career and technical education program. Leading the development of pathways within the career and technical education field.
To maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works directly with high school, middle school and alternative high school to support programming and provide leadership and expertise in CTE education.
- Provides support, direction and consultation to all CTE teachers, including professional development.
- Works in conjunction with various local and state agencies to meet the needs of students; ensures compliance of programs with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Promotes post-secondary pathway opportunities.
- Serves on regional CTE committees.
- Develop CTE related internship opportunities.
- Recruits, screens and recommends for hire all employees in the maintenance/ custodial department.
- Trains and supervises all maintenance/ custodial personnel, and makes recommendations for their continued employment.
- Assigns and supervises crews for maintenance work such as replacing worn or defective wiring, switches, faucets, and plumbing fixtures, and repairing fences, asphalt, concrete, and ceilings.
- Develops a system for dealing with emergency repair problems with efficiency.
- Prepares and administers the maintenance budget.
- Authorizes purchases in accordance with budgetary limitations and district rules.
- Approves and forwards maintenance and transportation service invoices to the business office.
- Approves and submits timesheets to the payroll office on a weekly basis.
- Consults with building principals regarding the establishment of regular preventative maintenance programs.
- Serves as the district’s Safety Coordinator.
- Works with high school admin team to ensure sports facilities are well maintained and safe for student athlete and community use.
- Follows district policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: As set by the Board of Education through the annual salary schedule for CTE/Maintenance Director. Up to seven years’ experience allowed.
Work Schedule: 250 days; Twelve-month year.
