TITLE: High School Library Aide (Half-Time)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years college experience or hold an approved highly qualified certification (i.e. Work Keys)
- Be capable of working effectively with student with little direct supervision
- Willingness to assume responsibility
- Must be able to work in Microsoft Word and ability to work or learn quickly library computer software
- General appearance must be neat, clean, and presentable to the district requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires periods of light physical activity and requires long periods of time standing, sitting and/or walking. Typically the position requires the employee to work in a library environment; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards.

Building principal
JOB GOAL:
To assist the librarian achieve teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups with library services.
To provide a well-organized, smooth functioning library environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Circulation and shelving books.
- Technology as related to library science.
- Instruction of library use for students.
- Ensure that the library is supervised during all school hours.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: District’s adopted teacher aide salary schedule, step 1 until work experience is verified, then can be increased to step 7 dependent upon experience
Work Schedule: 175 half- day as set by annual District calendar

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
