TITLE:

Substitute Instructional Aide

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Associates degree or 48 college credit hours or adequate experience.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs; bend; reach; hold grasp and turn objects. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Principal or Building Supervisor

Superintendent

 

JOB GOAL:

To enable each child to pursue his or her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
  2. Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and position to which assigned.
  3. Follow detailed instructions provided by the classroom teacher.
  4. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular employees are subject and which good employee practices dictate.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

                Salary:      Based upon District adopted salary schedule for substitutes

  Work Schedule:      On an as needed basis.  No guarantee of being called for substituting

             Benefits:      None

                 Hours:      Set by the building principal for which the substitute is called to work in.

          FLSA Status:      Non-Exempt/Classified

 

EVALUATION:

            As per board policy regarding classified evaluations.
